This vintage black and white postcard features a photograph of the historic Metzgerei Hirsch, a butcher shop owned by Ernst Krissler, located in Gruibingen in the Göppingen district of Germany. The building is depicted with its traditional German architecture, including shuttered windows and a large tiled roof, conveying a classic mid-20th century small-town atmosphere. The signage on the building prominently displays the name and ownership, adding to the postcard's local historical charm. Printed as an authentic photo postcard (Echte Fotografie) by Verlag Foto Hildenbrand in Göppingen, this real photographic print captures fine architectural details and textures, making it a unique collectible for enthusiasts of German history, vintage photography, or regional memorabilia. The back includes handwritten correspondence in German, addressed to a family in Hamburg, and a postmark indicating its mailed status. This postcard offers a tangible glimpse into everyday life and commerce in postwar Germany, making it a compelling addition to any collection.
