Antique Nippon Sugar Bowl Open Form w Underplate Edwardian Porcelain Curio Shelf RS Nippon Hand Painted Porcelain Bowl w/ Saucer Curio Shelf Accent * Authentic antique Nippon porcelain sugar bowl with matching underplate * Hand-painted and richly gilt, featuring pink florals, Greek key motifs, and raised gold detailing * Marked Hand Painted Nippon with green RS monogram, dating the piece to circa 1900–1921 * Elegant double-handled open sugar bowl form, historically correct for Edwardian tea service * Includes the original matching underplate, enhancing display and collector value * Designed for sugar cubes or tongs; open form adapts naturally to vanity, curio, or decorative use * No chips, cracks, or repairs observed; age-appropriate wear to gilding consistent with antique porcelain * Interior shows typical early Nippon kiln speckling * Displays beautifully on a tea table, dresser, or curio shelf * A refined example of early 20th-century Japanese export porcelain * Mockup photos of the sugar bowl included in photos The underside bears the Hand Painted Nippon mark with the green RS monogram, associated with Reinhold Schlegelmilch, a respected exporter of high-quality porcelain. The use of Nippon rather than Japan firmly places this piece before 1921, when U.S. import laws changed country-of-origin requirements. Designed as an open sugar bowl, this form was commonly used for sugar cubes or tongs during the period and was not always paired with a lid.
