This is the Japanese VHS release of Solaris, a 2002 science fiction film starring George Clooney and directed by Steven Soderbergh. James Cameron, known for Titanic, was involved in its production. Based on Stanisław Lem's science fiction novel Solaris, and also known for the 1972 Tarkovsky version Solaris, this film holds a special place in the history of science fiction cinema. While set on a space station, it's not just a space adventure but a quiet exploration of memory, loss, love, guilt, and human consciousness. Rather than flashy sci-fi action, it's a contemplative sci-fi that leaves a deep impression and still has a strong fanbase today. This is the subtitled VHS version from 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment. Recommended for those who want to own the original VHS packaging from that era, fans of George Clooney's work, Steven Soderbergh's films, or collectors of science fiction movies. VHS tapes are now rarely distributed, making this a piece that can be enjoyed as a collectible for film enthusiasts.
