New in Box! Box does show signs of rough shipping journey but not opened. Sold Out Design – Box #13 (Second Year Subscription) The Crunch Labs Galton’s Goalie is an educational, hands-on STEM building kit designed by former NASA engineer Mark Rober to teach children about the mathematical concept of a bell curve. This engineering focused build box is designed for kids aged 8 to 12. Core Lesson: • Designed to teach kids about the mathematical concept of a bell curve (normal distribution) through a fun, soccer-themed game • How It Works: A motor-powered mechanism flings small balls upward into a playfield filled with fixed pegs. As the balls strike the pegs, their path is randomized. • The Probability Game: Due to statistical probability, the balls naturally bounce toward the center of the field much more frequently than the edges, forming a classic bell curve. Players use a movable goalie to try and block the incoming shots. Contains: • Motor • 3 Wood pieces • Chipboard base • 2 Adhesive foam sheets • Clear field • 2 Plastic field pieces • Plastic scoop • 3 Steel balls • Roller noddle • Shoulder washer • Magnet goalie • Goalie rod • 20 O-Rings • 2 Hook & Loop pieces • Battery Pack • 3 Motor screws • Screwdriver • Gear badge • Gear knob
