ring a touch of whimsical romance, poetry, and charm to your home decor or art collection with this striking 12-inch ceramic art pottery charger plate by the celebrated American designer and author, Sandra Magsamen. True to her iconic, heartfelt, folk-inspired style, this piece features a beautifully stylized, modernist illustration of an embracing couple nestled under a starry night sky. The vibrant, glossy glazes showcase rich midnight blues, warm terracottas, sunny yellows, and deep blacks. The reverse side of the plate features a beautiful hand-inscribed classic love poem by Sir Philip Sidney: My true love hath my heart and I have his. The center of the base is signed with the artist's characteristic SM initials. This piece is absolutely perfect for display on an easel, wall hanging, or as a thoughtful wedding, anniversary, or Valentine's Day gift. Specific Flaws to Note: As is characteristic of handmade studio pottery, there are minor irregularities inherent to the artisanal crafting process. Specifically, along the black outline defining the woman's face, there is a tiny surface glaze skip/shallow nick measuring approximately 1.5 mm (clearly documented in the close-up photos). This minor aesthetic detail is superficial, does not affect the structural integrity of the ceramic, and blends naturally into the rustic, hand-painted charm of folk art. No major cracks, large chips, or repairs detected. Listed with full transparency so you can buy with total confidence!
