Men's Nagajuban Fabric, Pure Wool Mosslin Yuzen Bolt, Helmet, Crane, Pine, Dragon, Castle, 75×575 How about this rare men's nagajuban wool fabric? The folded areas have yellowed due to age-related deterioration. As this is a long-term storage item, there may be unseen damage, but We are listing it because we thought it might be useful for remakes, etc., due to its rare pattern and wide width. The vinyl cover is shown for the product details, but it will be removed before shipping. Our family's business was a wholesale fabric dealer for a long time. This is an item from our inventory. While there are signs of age-related deterioration, we are offering it at a low price, and we would be happy if you could use it somewhere. We also accept bundled orders, so please apply through the bundling function. Below is a description of the fabric. This is a Yuzen Mosslin bolt dyed using the traditional Japanese dyeing technique Yuzen-zome, featuring motifs of helmets, cranes, pine trees, dragons, and castles. It is a plain-woven wool 100% fabric called Mosslin (or Merins). Material: Woven from 100% single-ply wool yarn, it is characterized by being light, warm, and conforming well to the body. Technique: Yuzen-zome, a traditional Japanese dyeing technique, is used. Since the Meiji era, the advent of vibrant colors made possible by imported chemical dyes led to the widespread popularity of Mosslin with such intricate landscape patterns. Uses and Historical Context Main Uses: Primarily used for men's nagajuban (underkimono), casual wear, and children's kimonos. Historical Context: Mosslin was extremely popular from the Meiji to the Taisho and early Showa periods, even being described as a necessity of national life. Motifs like the one in this image were particularly popular for men's juban. Today, it is enjoyed not only as kimono fabric but also as material for remakes into interior items such as tapestries and placemats, or bags.
