Thank you for viewing. We are offering a rare vintage clarinet from H. Selmer Paris, model name #Consert. With serial number #6099, it is presumed to be a very historic instrument manufactured from the late 1940s to the early 1950s. It was passed down from my uncle. [Special Feature of this Instrument: The LONDON Engraving and its Historical Background] The most appealing feature of this clarinet is the clear LONDON engraving in the position where Made in France or similar would normally be found (please see photos). This is valuable evidence that Selmer manufactured and shipped this instrument specifically for the London market, which was a major market at the time. The quality of the instrument is the same as that of instruments made at the French headquarters, and its historical background of being intended for a specific market makes it a highly attractive piece for collectors who deeply appreciate Selmer's history. It is a rare instrument that stands apart from standard models. [Instrument Condition] Wood: Considering its manufacturing age, it is in very good condition, with no cracks or signs of repair. It has beautiful wood grain and a vintage character. Key Mechanism: All keys operate smoothly. The plating is also in good condition. Pads: The pads are in relatively good condition and are playable. Please adjust them yourself if necessary after purchase. Accessories: The original case from that era has been discarded due to severe age-related deterioration. It will now be delivered stored in a newly purchased, unused hard case (or soft case) for clarinets. You can rest assured that it will be transported and stored safely. Unopened Arundos B♭ reeds are included. [About this Listing] This instrument possesses a deep and rich tone unique to vintage instruments, which is not found in modern models. We wish to pass it on to collectors and those who love playing vintage instruments. While the condition is good, please understand that this is a used item that is over 70 years old and purchase accordingly. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. Thank you.
