Vernon Kilns Great Smoky Mountains Plate Ogle's Crafts Gatlinburg TN Vintage A beautiful 10-inch vintage collector plate designed and produced by Vernon Kilns (Vernon, California), one of the most celebrated Southern California potteries of the mid-20th century. This piece was made expressly for Ogle’s Crafts of the Smokies in Gatlinburg, Tennessee — historically noted as the only shop in Gatlinburg operated by natives of the town. The plate features a charming blue transferware design depicting iconic Great Smoky Mountains landmarks in a collage layout, including: • Newfound Gap and the parking area • Skyway to Clingman’s Dome • The Loop • Laurel Falls • Mt. LeConte and the Newfound Gap Highway • Rhododendron in full bloom • A center black bear motif • Floral border with dogwood-style blossoms • Maker: Vernon Kilns, U.S.A. • Retailer commission: Ogle’s Crafts of the Smokies, Gatlinburg, TN • Color: Blue and white transferware • Diameter: approx. 10” (please measure yours and update) • Condition: Great vintage condition, no chips or cracks, minor surface wear consistent with age A wonderful piece of Smoky Mountains and Gatlinburg tourism history, and a genuine collectible from a well-documented American pottery maker. Perfect for collectors of Vernon Kilns, regional souvenirware, or Tennessee/Smoky Mountains memorabilia. Please review all photos carefully, including the backstamp, as they form part of the item description. Sold as-is.
