Up for sale is a beautifully matched pair of antique twin-handled bouillon (cream soup) cups produced by Jackson & Gosling at the Grosvenor Works in Staffordshire, England. Featuring the Ye Olde English Grosvenor backstamp, these fine bone china pieces date to the 1920s or early 1930s. The interior features a stunning, rich cobalt blue border heavily overlaid with intricate gold gilt swags, delicate stars, and laurel branches. The center and sides are adorned with beautifully detailed, hand-painted pink cabbage roses. Manufacturer: Jackson & Gosling (Grosvenor China) Origin: Staffordshire, England Era: c. 1920s - 1930s Pattern Number: 5135 (Hand-painted in red script on base) Item Type: Twin-handled bouillon / cream soup cups (saucers/liners not included) Condition Report Overall Condition: Very Good antique condition. The porcelain is crisp, white, and free of chips, cracks, crazing, or repairs. Gilding & Paint: The core interior pattern, central roses, and top scalloped rims remain exceptionally bright, vibrant, and well-preserved. Wear Note: Both cups show minor, honest gold thinning/wear on the underside of the handles from handling over the years (please see close-up photos). This is typical for tableware of this vintage and does not detract from display. Shipping & Handling These delicate pieces will be meticulously packed with professional care.
