Vintage Taxco Mexican Sterling Silver Abalone Enamel Sunburst Brooch | Eagle Mark Measurements: Diameter: approx. 1.75–2 inches Condition: Very good vintage condition. Enamel is intact with light age-appropriate wear Abalone shell shows natural organic variation and iridescence Sterling silver displays a light patina consistent with age (not over-polished) Brand / Origin: Taxco, Mexico Metal: Sterling Silver Markings: Mexican Eagle Mark (see photos) Center Stone: Natural Abalone Shell Finish: Blue enamel with silver detailing Closure: Pin back with rollover safety clasp Era: c. 1950s–1970s Type: Brooch / Pin Striking vintage Taxco Mexican sterling silver brooch featuring a radiant sunburst / floral rosette design with deep cobalt blue enamel petals and a luminous natural abalone shell center. The abalone displays beautiful iridescent flashes of green, violet, and silver, making each viewing angle unique. The reverse is stamped with a Mexican Eagle Mark, dating this piece to the mid-20th century (circa 1948–1979) and confirming sterling silver content and Mexican origin. The construction, enamel work, and form are consistent with Taxco silversmith production, long celebrated for high-quality artisan jewelry. This piece is a brooch (not a pendant) and is fitted with a horizontal pin back and rollover safety clasp. A wonderful example of mid-century Mexican silver jewelry, ideal for collectors or as a bold statement accessory.
