Who can resist that face! Beautiful and adorable at the same time, porcelain piano bisque baby from around the 1920's. She is in amazing condition, no chips or cracks or repairs, just really lovely. Measures 4.5 tall by 3 & 3/4 from her rear to her feet. Her head is 2 wide. She has a sticker with a V surrounded by two lions. I was not able to find much information regarding the maker. Shipping is included. Piano babies were porcelain figurines of babies that were popular in Victorian and early 20th century homes. They were used to hold shawls in place on pianos. They were produced in a variety of sizes and poses, including sitting, crawling, lying down, and sleeping and were a Victorian era fad. They were available in sizes from 4 inches to 18 inches tall. Since pianos were the focal point in Victorian parlors, the whimsical bisque babies were designed to sit on top of the ubiquitous pianos to anchor piano scarves. They were very popular until the early 20th century.
