This is a vintage Pierrot porcelain clown doll, a popular style of collectible home decor that peaked in popularity during the 1980s. She is part of my collection that I am selling and has been stored well (comes w/her vintage black box). Key Characteristics- Character Roots: Pierrot is a classic pantomime character originating from the Italian Commedia dell'arte theater tradition. She is traditionally depicted as a sad, lovesick clown or mime. Design Features: The doll features a hand-painted bisque porcelain gold head, feet, arms, legs and hands, attached to a soft, stuffed fabric body. She is depicted with a painted teardrop on her cheek, red lips, green eyes with eyelashes. Outfit: She is dressed in a characteristic satin loose tunic & wide-legged trousers accented with large, oversized metallic silver buttons. The Keeper of Quiet Midnights- Born of the 1980s, an era of neon lights & loud music, yet she chose the quiet luxury of the shadows. Standing 19 inches tall in her midnight-black suit, this vintage Pierrot doll carries the timeless elegance of a classic French pantomime. With a face of smooth, pale porcelain, she has watched decades of sunrises from the corners of cozy bedrooms. She wears a single, painted teardrop on her cheek—not out of true sorrow, but as a silent keeper of secrets, dreams, & soft memories. Oversized silver buttons catch the moonlight, reminding anyone who looks at her that true beauty doesn’t need to shout to be noticed. non-smoking home
