Rare!! Aikido The Principles of Aikido Sword, Staff, and Body Techniques Author: Morihiro Saito, 9th Dan Published: July 1, 1992, 18th Edition This book is a bilingual edition, featuring explanations in both Japanese and English. We believe this is a valuable book specializing in Aikido sword, staff, and body techniques. This book explains the applications and variations based on the paired sword forms left by the founder of Aikido, Morihei Ueshiba. It further expands on the principles by explaining paired staff forms, then staff and body techniques, body techniques and sword, and sword and staff. The paired sword forms in Aikido inherently include body movements based on the principles of Aikido. Therefore, it is said that one can transition to body techniques at any point during the paired sword forms. The same applies to paired staff forms. The author states that in these paired sword and staff forms, if one focuses too much on the weapons, it becomes difficult to transition to body techniques. Therefore, this book provides detailed explanations with photographs so that anyone can learn. The performers in this book include photographs of demonstrations by Doshu Koichi Tohei of Shin Shin Toitsu Aikido, Shihan Yasuo Kobayashi of Aikido Kobayashi Dojo, and Shihan Mitsugi Saotome of Aikido Shurenkan. Master Morihiro Saito Born March 1928 in Ibaraki Prefecture. July 1946: Studied under the founder of Aikido, Morihei Ueshiba, at the Aikido Training Dojo in Iwama, Ibaraki Prefecture, and trained under the founder for 23 years. January 1959: Became a Shihan of the Aikikai. April 1969: After the founder's passing, the Ibaraki Dojo was established, and he continued to protect the Aikido Shrine. January 1983: Received an award for distinguished service in martial arts from the Nippon Budokan Foundation. May 13, 2002: Passed away at the age of 74. Master Morihiro Saito's paired staff techniques using the Aikido staff, directly taught by the founder, are said to be unparalleled, making his paired staff forms truly magnificent. ❣️ Master Morihiro Saito was the only one permitted by the founder to teach weapon techniques. ❣️ He can be considered the successor whom Morihei Ueshiba, the founder, trusted and cherished the most. As this book is 33 years old, there is some age-related discoloration, but it is in relatively good condition with no noticeable scratches or major stains. We ask for your understanding. This is a highly rare Aikido book. - Title: Traditional Aikido Volume 2: Advanced Techniques - Author: Morihiro Saito - Rank: 9th Dan - Content: Techniques related to sword, staff, and body techniques - Language: Japanese, English Thank you for looking.
