❤️ The wisdom of our ancestors is truly wonderful. They discovered that Japanese paper coated with persimmon tannin has waterproofing properties and have utilized it for various items and purposes. ❤️ By cutting out letters or patterns with a craft knife or small blade, and then painting the cut-out areas with watercolors or mineral pigments, you can create beautiful stencil dyeing. ❤️ How about using this for handmade Christmas cards or New Year's cards? ❤️ Even with the same stencil, changing the colors can create a completely different atmosphere. ❤️ If you let the first color dry before applying the next, the colors will bleed less. ❤️ Testing the colors on other paper first will give you a better idea of the finished look and reduce the chance of mistakes. ❤️ Once finished, wipe off any paint from the persimmon tannin-dyed paper with a tightly wrung damp cloth and let it dry. It can then be reused as a stencil. ❤️ I believe this will be useful not only for Christmas cards and New Year's cards but also for birthday cards, midsummer greetings, party invitations, and for anyone who values handmade items. ❤️ I hope this is helpful!
