Edo Period Japanese Sword Fuchi-Kashira Set - Exquisite Gold Inlay Shrimp in Turbulent Waves - Masterful Carving Signed Fuchi-Kashira by Masami Morikuni, Seal on Shakudo with Shrimp in Turbulent Waves Design - Edo Period, Iyo Masami, Yosyu - Includes Original Box This is a beautiful pair of Fuchi-Kashira (collar and pommel cap) from the Edo period. Against a black background, shrimp are dynamically depicted in high-relief gold inlay, appearing to leap amidst violently surging waves. The shrimp on the kashira (pommel cap) are particularly vibrant in gold, with astonishingly detailed carving of their antennae and legs, possessing a power that makes them seem ready to move at any moment. The fuchi (collar) also features a unified design with the waves and shrimp, and a maker's mark can be confirmed on the back. A must-have piece for sword fitting collectors. Shrimp are a popular motif symbolizing longevity and success, and this piece holds high artistic value. In good condition, the brilliance of the fine gold inlay remains beautiful. Perfect for high-end sword mountings or collections. This Fuchi-Kashira boasts an outstanding presence, recommended for those who appreciate authenticity! (The actual item's three-dimensionality and gold brilliance are even more striking.) *The current price is after a discount.
