This charming mid-century compact mirror was made in West Germany in the 1950s–1960s and features a sweet Victorian-style illustration of two children with a dog, preserved beneath a domed celluloid (early acrylic) cover. West German vanity compacts are especially collectible for their sentimental artwork, quality construction, and warm gold-tone finishes. This piece includes two interior mirrors, retains its original Made in Western Germany label, and closes securely with a working snap closure. The same image appears on both the top and bottom of the compact. A lovely addition to a vintage vanity, perfect for collectors of European compacts, mid-century accessories, or nostalgic dressing-table décor. Also beautiful as a small keepsake box or gift. CONDITION Good vintage condition Light surface wear to gold-tone metal Domed artwork intact with gentle age toning Mirrors show minor age speckling Snap closure works properly Original interior label intact DETAILS Era: 1950s–1960s Origin: West Germany Materials: Gold-tone metal, celluloid/acrylic dome, glass mirrors Design: Victorian children illustration Closure: Snap clasp
