This is a neck removed from a Fender Japan ST62-TX (equipped with Texas Special pickups), a high-end model. It is from a Dyna Gakki manufactured unit around 2004-2006 (Crafted in Japan R serial). For this listing, the fretboard has been cleaned and treated with premium lemon oil. It is perfect for immediate use or for upgrading your current Stratocaster. ■ Wood and Sound Characteristics • Fretboard Wood: Features a very dark and dense rosewood, rarely seen in recent models. It is a slab board specification, faithfully reproducing the 1962 style, producing rosewood's characteristic sustain and a thick, centered attack. Its appearance is substantial, reminiscent of Jacaranda. • Neck Wood: Luxuriously uses high-quality maple in a flat sawn cut. This is the same specification as models from the 50s to early 60s, characterized by rich overtones and a full resonance compared to modern quarter sawn necks. If you're seeking vintage sound, the same wood grain as the era is essential. Frankly, it's questionable why modern reissues of the '62 model commonly feature quarter sawn necks. Benefits of Slab Board (Thick Board) • Thick and Sustaining Tone: The fretboard rosewood is very thick with a flat contact surface to the maple. This results in a thicker low-mid range and a tone with a strong, sustained character. • Vintage Golden Era Specification: Reproduces the most powerful Stratocaster era, used only for a brief period from 1959 to mid-1962. • Luxurious Wood Usage: This method consumes a large amount of rare rosewood, offering a premium feel and substantial look not found in current inexpensive models (round lam). ■ Condition • Neck Straightness: Remains straight.
