This is a delicate and beautiful lily of the valley design bolo tie, featuring a lily of the valley motif inlaid with gold leaf on natural red agate, surrounded by geometric engravings.

A bolo tie is a type of neckwear consisting of a cord with decorative metal tips (aglets) and a decorative clasp. It originated in the 1940s in America as an accessory for cowboys and is also known as a bola tie or polo tie. In Japan, it gained popularity during the Save Energy Look of the 1970s and remains a consistently popular casual and retro fashion item for both men and women.

Chinkin (沈金) is a traditional Japanese lacquerware decorative technique where the surface is carved with a chinkin knife, and then gold leaf or powder is embedded into the grooves with lacquer.

A bolo tie necklace is an item that combines the formal feel of a tie with the casualness of a necklace. The V-shaped line creates a neat décolletage and adds a sophisticated touch to the overall outfit.
