★ Ferment food scraps using Bokashi with EM microorganisms, turning them into fertilizer that returns to the soil. The soil decomposed from food scraps becomes natural fertilizer for vegetables, flowers, trees, etc. Sprinkle EM Bokashi over the food scraps generated that day. Fermentation will cause white mold to appear, but please rest assured that it is a good quality mold, similar to the mold found in nukazuke (rice bran pickles). Prepare soil in a small planter, bury the food scraps sprinkled with EM Bokashi in the soil, and it will easily transform food scraps into high-quality soil without odor. *Food scraps sprinkled with EM Bokashi will ferment, not rot, so there will be no putrid odor. It is okay to leave them for about a day after sprinkling (if you are concerned, bury them in soil immediately). The perilla and Mitsuba (Japanese parsley) in the photos were grown in a planter where food scraps were transformed into soil by fermenting with Bokashi using EM microorganisms. This is the growth status of vegetables cultivated indoors in early February 2026. If placed in a location with sunlight, it will result in soil that allows for easy organic cultivation indoors.
