New Harvest Rice: Ise Hikari from Hyogo Prefecture [Harvested in Reiwa 7 (2025)]. Grown using natural farming methods, without pesticides or fertilizers. We build soil fertility using green manure, which serves as a source of energy for microorganisms and rice plants. We save our own seeds. We also grow our own seedlings, so they are cultivated with plenty of love and care. We have strived for honest cultivation in all aspects, aiming to contribute to everyone's delicious smiles. If you are purchasing brown rice, you may be concerned about its safety. We hope this video will put your mind at ease. Ise Hikari was born under miraculous circumstances in the rice paddies directly managed by Ise Jingu Shrine. Initially, we were drawn to its mystical origins and began cultivating it. However, now we continue to grow it purely for its deliciousness as a staple food. The cooked rice has large grains and a taste that feels somehow nostalgic. This may be because it is a variety that has not been artificially crossbred. It is not a hybrid rice variety aimed at easily recognizable deliciousness, but rather has a simple and pure flavor. However, it is very robust and has a strong, deep taste. We hope you will enjoy it, including its mystical backstory. [The Origin Story of Ise Hikari] In Reiwa 1 (1989), two large typhoons directly hit Mie Prefecture, causing all the rice in the direct-managed sacred paddies of Ise Jingu Shrine to fall over. However, even in such conditions, two stalks of rice stood upright with great strength. The administrator, sensing a special power, carefully protected, cultivated, and increased these two stalks. Later, DNA analysis revealed that it was a completely new variety. Since then, the rice has been named [Ise Hikari] and is carefully cultivated in the rice paddies directly managed by Ise Jingu Shrine and among farmers with a connection to the shrine.
