This is a black habutae haori (a type of Japanese jacket) with five family crests. This black crested habutae haori, made from habutae fabric from Gosen City, Niigata Prefecture, features five family crests. The family crest is Maru ni Mogi (a circle with a mallow leaf design). The white fabric for the kimono and haori was dyed black and each was given a family crest, but the kimono is no longer available. The crested black haori is very rare as a standalone item. The lining, called Gakubura, is made of silk habutae and depicts a treasure ship. On the treasure ship are Benzaiten, holding a biwa (lute) among the Seven Lucky Gods, followed by Fukurokuju with his long forehead, Ebisu with a gentle, benevolent face wearing a formal hat and robe, Hotei with his characteristic plump physique and loose clothing, and Bishamonten, the god of war, pulling a rope with a valiant expression. The background is adorned with items symbolizing prosperity such as rice bales, a large Uchide no Kozuchi (magic mallet), treasure bags, and coral. Wearing this haori with the treasure ship design is sure to bring you good fortune, prosperity, and wealth. Dimensions (in cm): Haori length (back): 96, Sleeve to sleeve length: 65.5, Sleeve width: 32.5, Sleeve length: 51, Back width: 30, Front width: 17.5 There are some black smudges on the crests. There are some stains and dirt spots on the haori lining. (See photos 4-12) We have checked for stains and dirt as thoroughly as possible, but there may be some overlooked. We appreciate your understanding. These are images taken with a digital camera. Please note that colors may appear differently depending on your monitor. The white haori himo (cord) used for the photoshoot is included. (See photos 1-3, 17, 18) The white haori himo has synthetic tassels (polyester) and a round silver ring. The ring is a temporary fixture to keep the tassels neat and should not be removed. It is said that visible metal fittings detract from the formality of the garment, especially in formal settings. The above is quoted from an AI Copilot explanation. However, some online stores state, A tassel ring is attached to maintain the shape of the tassels. Please use it without removing the ring. Please do not untie the four-strand knot. Click here for the manufacturer's site
