This is a men's andon hakama (a type of traditional Japanese divided skirt) made of Seigo Sendai-hira by Living National Treasure Sueo Koda, woven with stripes of light gray, navy, and Fukagawa gray. This item comes with extra fabric, and the color is closest to that in image 8. Although it has basting threads, there are fold marks that appear to have been made during long-term storage. There are no other noticeable stains or damage, and it is in beautiful condition. Seigo Sendai-hira is a winning hakama for men, made using techniques passed down only within the Koda family. Sendai-hira is a famous textile, synonymous with hakama since the Edo period. The hakama is the key to a dignified man's kimono appearance. The standing posture is sharp, and the shape is well-formed when sitting. Seigo Sendai-hira is a masterpiece chosen as a winning hakama by men who colored the times, including prime ministers and famous yokozuna (sumo grand champions). 【Sueo Koda】 Mr. Sueo Koda is a holder of Important Intangible Cultural Property, who inherited and further enhanced the outstanding techniques of the traditional silk textile Seigo Sendai-hira.
