Prada Luna Rossa Pirelli Team Issued Technical Suit — Personal Gear of Helmsman Jimmy Spithill DESCRIPTION: Up for sale is an incredibly rare, museum-grade piece of modern sailing and fashion history. This is an authentic, official team-issued technical garment produced exclusively for the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli Team for their elite America’s Cup campaigns. Most importantly, this specific piece features the factory/team tag explicitly marked for J. Spithill — the personal gear of the legendary two-time America’s Cup winner, Australian yachtsman, and Luna Rossa co-helmsman, James Jimmy Spithill. Known globally as The Pitbull, Spithill is revered as one of the most fierce, elite match-racing helmsmen in modern yachting history. He famously co-steered the revolutionary, 50-knot AC75 flying monohulls for the Italian syndicate, demanding the absolute pinnacle of aerodynamic and high-impact protective gear. As a true athlete-issue piece, this garment represents the peak of Prada’s technical engineering, blending extreme luxury with elite performance utility. It is an impossible-to-find archival item sought after by high-end sports memorabilia collectors, sailing enthusiasts, and avant-garde/gorpcore fashion curators alike.
