This is a men's andon hakama (a type of traditional Japanese divided skirt) made of Seigo Sendai-hira by Living National Treasure Sueo Koda, woven with stripes of light gray, navy, and Fukagawa gray. This item comes with extra fabric, and the color is closest to that in image 8. Although it has basting threads, there are fold marks that appear to have been made during long-term storage. There are no other noticeable stains or damage, and it is in beautiful condition. Seigo Sendai-hira is a winning hakama for men, made using techniques passed down only within the Koda family. Sendai-hira is a famous textile, synonymous with hakama since the Edo period. The hakama is the key to a dignified man's kimono appearance. The standing posture is sharp, and the shape is well-formed when sitting. Seigo Sendai-hira is a masterpiece chosen as a winning hakama by men who colored the times, including prime ministers and famous yokozuna (sumo grand champions). 【Sueo Koda】 Mr. Sueo Koda is a holder of Important Intangible Cultural Property, who inherited and further enhanced the outstanding techniques of the traditional silk textile Seigo Sendai-hira. Born in Sendai in 1929, he honed his skills from a young age under the strict guidance of his father, Eisuke. The Sendai-hira hakama fabric, which combines firmness and suppleness, is highly valued in formal settings and is also said to be a symbol of Japanese culture. Mr. Sueo Koda, with the motto of more than I expected, always pursues high-quality beauty while preserving tradition. His sincere attitude and skills continue to fascinate many people. 【Material】Pure silk 【Colors】Light gray, navy, Fukagawa gray 【Size】(Hakama) Length from the hip ties to the hem: 84.3cm 【Size Guide】For standard body types, the length of the kimono (from shoulder to hem) is approximately 27cm less than your height. For slender people, subtract 30cm, and for those with a larger build, subtract 25cm. For the sleeve length, measure from the prominent bone at the base of the neck on your back to the prominent bone at your wrist, with your arm extended horizontally. Hakama size: The length from the hip ties to the hem should be approximately the length from your hip bone to your ankle ±1cm. This is a high-quality item, so we recommend it. Immediate purchase is welcome. If you purchase multiple items, we will offer a discount, so please comment. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask before purchasing. If we do not respond to your comment after one day, there is a possibility that we have overlooked it. Please ask again.
