Studied at the Kokugakai Institute in Suginami, Tokyo. Held his first solo exhibition in Tokyo in 1957 and another at the Tokyo Gallery in 1959. From around 1963, he exhibited in numerous international print exhibitions. He also held solo exhibitions in Paris, gaining attention as an unconventional artist.
