This is a set of 5 antique bamboo rulers (measuring sticks) for Japanese sewing, found during a storage clean-out. These were used for tailoring kimonos and are marked with shaku, a unit unique to Japanese sewing, rather than modern units. Notably, one ruler includes the stamp **廣島** (Hiroshima) in its old character form, making it a fascinating item that evokes local history and craftsmanship. ? Set Contents: ? Bamboo Rulers: 5 in total (including one with the **廣島** stamp) The longest measures 76cm. The remaining four measure 38cm each. ? Features: ? **廣島** Stamp: A valuable mark indicating it was a tool related to the kimono fabric industry in Hiroshima at the time. ? Aged Bamboo Texture: The bamboo has developed a deep,飴色 (ameiro - caramel-colored) patina over the years, offering a unique antique aesthetic. ? Condition: ? All are used, vintage items that have been stored for a long time. ? The bamboo has some warping, scuffs, dirt, and ink marks, but no major cracks are observed. ? Please examine the stamps and condition carefully in the images before purchasing. This item is intended for those who understand and appreciate vintage goods. These bamboo rulers are rare nowadays, and there are even reports of their production being discontinued. They are perfect not only as Japanese sewing tools but also as antique displays or props for photography. #JapaneseSewing #BambooRuler #Kujirajaku #MeasuringStick #Hiroshima #OldTools #Antique #ShowaRetro #PeriodItem #JapaneseTools #LocalHistory Click here for the manufacturer's site
