vintage Baroque Revival style vanity desk organizer manufactured by the Hamilton Sterling Corporation. Known broadly for producing high-end decorative vanity ware and desk accessories throughout the mid-to-late 20th century, Hamilton pieces feature cast base metals finished in heavy, brilliant 24K gold plating. Here is a formal product description detailing the item's features, purpose, and condition. Product DescriptionDesign & AestheticThis highly ornate desk caddy is sculpted in a dramatic Baroque Revival style. The central focus is a three-dimensional winged cherub (putto) figurine seated dynamically atop a naturalistic mound. The circular, heavy base is heavily textured with classical motifs, featuring layered, high-relief sculpted rose blooms and flowing acanthus leaves that cascade along the rim.FunctionalityFlanking the central cherub are two angled, hollow cylindrical tubes featuring intricate, open-work filigree patterning. Historically, these dual caddies served a versatile purpose depending on whether the piece was placed on a writing desk or a makeup vanity table:Vanity Use: Most commonly utilized as a luxury lipstick tube holder or a holder for slender makeup brushes. PLEASEVIEW ALL PHOTOS AS THEY ARE PART OF THE DESCRIPTION. THIS IS IN VINTAGE CONDITION.
