Garmin 40 Early GPS Handheld (Junk Item) ▶︎ This is an early handheld Garmin GPS 40. ▶︎ The LCD screen has lines and is unreadable, but it is operational. We believe the issue is either with the LCD screen or a poor connection on the internal terminals. Data transfer may be possible, but it is being sold as a junk item. How about using it for parts, research, or as a collectible? ↓The following is an explanation from ChatGPT: This is one of the early portable GPS receivers released by Garmin in 1993. This model was used for outdoor activities and navigation in aircraft, ships, and automobiles. Compared to current GPS receivers, the GPS 40 has limited functionality and does not meet today's standards, but it was an innovative device for users at the time. The GPS 40 uses a low-power 8-bit microprocessor and operates on four AA alkaline batteries. It can receive GPS signals and display information such as latitude, longitude, altitude, and speed. ※ ▶︎GPS 40 Main Unit ▶︎Dedicated Soft Case ▶︎Instruction Manual (English) ▶︎Data Cable (Aftermarket) are included in this set. The GPS 40 was popular among hikers and outdoor enthusiasts at the time, but compared to modern GPS receivers, its functionality, accuracy, and portability are far inferior. #garmin #ガーミン Click here for the manufacturer's site
