Up for sale is a beautiful, highly collectible Vintage Fenton Blue Overlay Beaded Melon Glass Basket (Pattern No. 711). Dating from Fenton's highly sought-after 1949–1953 production run, this is the larger and more desirable 9-inch tall variation. It features a brilliant cased aqua blue exterior overlaying an opaque milk glass interior, finished with a classic mid-century crimped, ruffled crest. The basket is completed by a stunning, thick clear-blue applied handle in the distinct bamboo/nicked style—a design characteristic heavily associated with Fenton's legendary master handler, Peter K. Raymond. Specifications: * Manufacturer: Fenton Art Glass Company * Pattern: Beaded Melon (#711) * Color: Cased Blue Overlay / Aqua & White * Era: Late 1940s – Early 1950s * Height: Approx. 9 inches * Markings: Unmarked (Produced prior to Fenton's molded logo era; originally featured a paper label). Condition: Excellent vintage condition overall. The applied handle is perfectly secure with no chips, fractures, or heat checks at the attachment points. No chips or cracks anywhere on the body, base, or ruffled rim. The glass retains its gorgeous, vibrant fire-polished gloss shine. Inside the basket, there are a few very minor, superficial surface scuff dots consistent with gentle age and display. Please view all photos as they serve as the definitive description of the item's beauty and condition.
