Authentic antique handmade prairie sunbonnet crafted from delicate blue calico cotton with an elegant gathered crown, dramatic brim, and extended neck drape for sun protection. Entirely hand-stitched throughout with visible selvedge construction and raw interior seam finishing indicative of early domestic sewing techniques. This beautiful folk textile piece likely dates to the late 19th or early 20th century and reflects the practical yet charming design of rural American pioneer and farm bonnets. The soft indigo-style floral print, irregular hand gathering, and naturally aged construction give the bonnet wonderful primitive character and authenticity. A lovely display piece for farmhouse, primitive, cottagecore, or early Americana collections. Wonderful for textile collectors, historical costume display, reenactment, or wall hanging decor. Condition: Beautiful antique condition with age-appropriate wear, fraying, loose threads, and irregularities consistent with handmade antique textiles. Please review the photos carefully for details.
