Pygmalius Derius DA-180 Viola, Made in 2001 15.5 inches (Body Length: 395mm) Pygmalius is a top-tier Japanese brand crafted by Violino, Inc., with workshops located in Odawara City, Kanagawa Prefecture. Since its inception in 1976, Pygmalius has garnered acclaim for its superior design, beautiful tone, and artistic finish, influencing not only the Japanese market but also those in Europe and America, earning the support of numerous musicians. The DERIUS series is designed to embody the essence of master instruments, making them easy to play and produce sound even for beginners. The DA-180, the highest model in the Derius series, features an elegant antique finish and is meticulously crafted by skilled artisans, enabling the production of expressive and delicate tones. While antique finish models are no longer produced, this instrument's grade appears to be equivalent to the current Progresso (VA200) to Specialita (VA300) models. This exceptional viola boasts a striking, single-piece back with beautiful, bold flame maple, a rare feature for violas. The 15.5-inch size is comfortable even for smaller individuals, offering a responsive sound with delicate tonal qualities. Why not take this opportunity to acquire a professional-grade viola? As violas of this caliber are rarely seen on the used market, don't miss out on this chance. Enjoy the rich and deeply resonant sound of Pygmalius. Set Includes: - Viola Body - Bow: Workshop-made Pernambuco (New) - Strings: Helicores / Chromecores (New) - A-String Adjuster: With Swarovski crystals (New) - Rosin (New) - Original Cloth (New) - Tortoise-type Mute - Shoulder Rest: Kun Original - Case (with blanket and shoulder strap) Everything you need is included, so you can start playing right away. Fully adjusted (bridge, pegs, soundpost, polishing, cleaning, overall adjustment). While there are some scratches and dirt from use, the overall condition is healthy. The fitting parts (pegs, tailpiece, chin rest) are made of high-quality boxwood. The case shows signs of use. The instrument has been adjusted and maintained, so it is ready to play after tuning.
