Item Description Up for auction or purchase is an exceptionally rare piece of Pacific Northwest regional history: The Suicide Race by Carol Austin. Published in 1996 by the hyper-local independent publisher The Mondo Press out of Rice, Washington, this elusive book chronicles the history, culture, and controversy surrounding the world-famous Omak Suicide Race tied to the Omak Stampede. Because of its incredibly small, localized print run, this title is highly sought after by regional historians, rodeo enthusiasts, and collectors of Native American horse culture. Item Details: * Title: The Suicide Race * Author: Carol Austin * Publisher: The Mondo Press (Post Office Box One, Rice, WA 99167) * Publication Year: 1996 * Edition: First Edition (Copyright page shows only original 1996 date) * Binding: Softcover / Paperback Condition Notes: Excellent vintage pre-owned condition. The cover is bright and crisp with minimal edge or corner wear. The spine is uncracked, the binding remains perfectly tight, and the interior pages are completely clean and unmarked with no highlights, tears, or dog-ears. (Please see high-resolution photos for full condition details). A truly unique addition to any Pacific Northwest history library or rodeo memorabilia collection.
