This is a used P12 size picture frame. It originally held Ikuo Hirayama's print Distant View of Taj Mahal (Photo 19). I believe the buyer of the artwork replaced the frame with a different one and sold this original frame on the used market. Dimensions: Inner frame size: P12 (60.6 cm x 45.5 cm) Outer frame size: 64 cm x 49 cm x 4 cm Mat opening: 41.5 cm x 30 cm Outer box: 66.7 cm x 52.5 cm x 6 cm The material of the wooden frame is unknown. Photo 3 shows the wooden frame + glass. Photo 4 shows the frame with the mat inserted, viewed from the back. Photo 5 shows the backing paper for artwork protection, the foam for thickness adjustment, and the back panel. Photo 2 shows everything from Photo 5 inserted into the frame shown in Photo 4, and Photo 1 is the front view of that. There are two hanging fixtures on the sides, and a cord was attached (Photo 20). Photo 6 shows a corner of the wooden frame, which is solidly constructed. The thickness from the glass to the back panel is approximately 2.8 cm. This frame can accommodate canvases stretched on a P12 size wooden frame for oil paintings, acrylic paintings, etc., with some modification. The gold decorative frame shown in Photos 7 and 8 is not fixed and can be easily detached and separated into four pieces. It can be attached to either the front or back of the glass. The back panel was originally sealed with green paper tape. It appears the buyer tore this tape to remove the artwork. If you plan to reuse it, you will need to reapply new paper tape to seal it, or prepare the necessary number of fasteners and screw them in to secure the back panel. There are dents and scratches on the wooden frame (Photos 9-11). Additionally, there are three small cracks on the back of the wooden frame (Photos 12-14). I believe these occurred when the fasteners and hanging fixtures were screwed in. While these cracks do not affect the overall strength of the frame itself, it is advisable to avoid these areas if you plan to screw in new fasteners or hanging fixtures. The box has dents, stains, and signs of use, but it is still fully capable of protecting the frame and will be used for shipping (Photos 15-18).
