The motor section is easily secured with 4 screws on the side and is not typically opened (no special maintenance is required), but it is designed to make belt lubrication a little easier. Due to U.S. specifications, the 100v household outlet will allow you to run for a short while after setting it to a vigorous run, but it will stop soon after.
