For the man who owns a proper dinner jacket. A pair of Church's of Northampton Albert smoking slippers in the most coveted colorway — deep midnight navy velvet that reads almost black in evening light and reveals its blue in daylight, punctuated by the hand-embroidered King John Crown crest in antique gold. This is not a loafer. It is the original English house slipper, born for the library, the club, and black-tie at home. Worn by those who know that true luxury whispers. The Sovereign is Church's most iconic evening model: 100% cotton velvet upper, piped trim, scarlet quilted satin lining, and a full leather sole that will age beautifully and can be resoled for life by Church's Art of Repair program. Why you will love them: • Pedigree: The definitive Northampton maker since 1873, now under Prada Group stewardship. Made in England to Goodyear standards. • Material: Sumptuously soft velvet in midnight blue — far more interesting than basic black. Velvet / calf leather with quilted lining • Detail: Gold metallic crown embroidery on the vamp — regal, not flashy • Interior: Iconic red quilted lining, leather insole — comfortable from the first wear • Sole: Natural leather sole, stamped Church's of Northampton This pair was clearly cherished. DETAILS: Brand: Church's Model: Sovereign 2 Velvet Crown / Albert Slipper Color: Midnight Navy Velvet + Gold Crown Material: Velvet upper, Calf leather
