A pair of antique bobbin lace linen doilies/coasters from Bruges, the Venice of the North in Belgium, featuring a stylized butterfly motif with floral scalloped edges. These charming, three-dimensional butterflies appear to be flying with their wings spread. The surrounding scallops might resemble flower petals, leaf veins, or even a dense forest. The sense of dynamism and flight changes with every shift in orientation and placement. The color is a gentle, soft cream ivory, retaining the natural flax hue of undyed linen, possibly with hints of pale pink or a delicate skin tone. Every stitch is meticulously crafted, with no skipped threads, showcasing the intricate details of the butterflies, petals, and connecting bridges. The lace is airy and translucent, creating a cool and refreshing feel perfect for spring, summer, and early autumn. Its serene color also imparts a sense of warmth during winter. The edges are finished with picot-style lace, adding a touch of light and delicate charm. Woven with a medium-fine linen thread, the texture is smooth and soft to the touch, with a natural feel. Despite being tightly and securely knitted, the finish is smooth. They are robust and durable, making them suitable for everyday use. Please note that the following measurements are approximate and may have slight errors: Diameter: Approximately 10.1-9.8 cm Weight: Approximately 2.3g for two pieces The thread ends are visible on the reverse side but are neatly finished, ensuring beauty even when viewed from the back. The items show no signs of damage such as stains or scratches from the time of purchase and appear to be unused. These doilies are perfect for displaying small antique objects, antique bisque dolls, mignonettes, figurines, glass dolls, single-stem vases, dollhouses, or cherished photographs. They will enhance and add elegance and beauty to your displayed items. We hope you will enjoy using them if you like them. ∞ We also have other items with similar textures and techniques available: Antique Belgian Bruges Bobbin Lace Cream Ivory Floral Doily Antique Purchased in Belgium Bobbin Lace Beautiful Sunflower Square Doily Antique Belgian Bruges Bobbin Lace Flax Colored Bobbin Lace Flower Doily Antique Belgian Bruges Lace Daisy Doily Ivory Beige β Search terms: minä perhonen choucho butterfly papillon Click here for the manufacturer's site
