Model Number: KY-40EX Features: Compact design for beginners, allowing selection of speed adjustment and basic stitch patterns (C to 3). Use: Suitable for simple sewing and repairs at home. This is the LIBERO KY-40EX model from SINGER's MERRITT series. Here are some tips for using this sewing machine comfortably. 1. Obtaining the Instruction Manual On the manufacturer's (SINGER) official website, instruction manuals for successor models and similar series like MERRITT LIBERO KN Series are available. SINGER Sewing Machine How to obtain: Search the SINGER official instruction manual search page using keywords such as MERRITT LIBERO or KN to find a PDF document that explains basic usage. 2. Function of Buttons and Dials Shown in Photos Large dial in the center (near the 2 marking): This is the upper thread tension dial. It is used to adjust the beauty of the stitches. Slide switch below the LIBERO logo: This is the speed adjustment lever. Moving it from left (slow) to right (fast) changes the sewing speed. Square button on the right (with return arrow mark): This is the reverse stitch lever. When pressed down, the fabric is fed backward (in the opposite direction), allowing you to secure the beginning and end of your stitches to prevent unraveling. 3. Stitch Patterns at the Bottom (Numbers and Letters) The patterns drawn at the bottom of the sewing machine are the selectable stitch patterns. 1-4: Straight stitch (differences in needle position and stitch density) 5-7: Zigzag stitch 8-10: Special stitches such as blind stitch and stretch stitch A-C: Buttonhole stitch This sewing machine is a compact and easy-to-handle electronic sewing machine, and if you don't force it to sew thick materials, you can use it for a long time.
