Vintage Japanese Go Board with Legs, Approx. 17cm Thick, Includes Stones and Bowls, 18x18 Grid, Natural Wood Includes a Paulownia Wood Lid This Go board weighs approximately 15kg, making it exceptionally heavy and stable. This leg-style Go board was custom-ordered and purchased in Miyazaki about 59 years ago. It is said to be made of Kaya wood, but please examine the images for details before considering your purchase. The wood grain is fine and uniformly dense, with wave-like growth rings packed tightly. Although aged, it retains a faint natural wood aroma. We are told it was purchased for several months' salary at the time and has been carefully stored. ■ Contents ・ Go board with legs (18x18 grid) ・ Go stones (161 white, 169 black) ・ Wooden Go stone bowls (with lids) ・ Weight: 15.3kg ■ Size (approximate) ・ Board thickness: Approx. 17cm ・ Solid and heavy construction with legs Board size: 46cm x 41.5cm Board thickness: 17cm (approx. 6 sun) Height: 28cm ■ Condition ・ Long-term storage item ・ There are minor scratches and signs of age from use and storage, including on the lid, board, stones, and bowls. ・ There is no major damage that would impede use, but there is a scratch on one of the legs (image 19). Please check the images carefully. This area does not affect usability, but those who are concerned should refrain from purchasing. ・ Some of the Go stones have scratches. ・ As this is a personal item, there may be minor oversights. Please consider this before purchasing. ・ Those who are particular about minor details should refrain from purchasing. ■ Features ・ Rare 18x18 grid, uncommon today ・ Authentic specification with 17cm thickness ・ Beautiful wood grain and a substantial feel ・ Recommended for practical use, as well as for collection or interior decoration * Due to its weight, we plan to ship via Tanomeru-bin (a shipping service with guarantees), which may take slightly longer than standard shipping for both dispatch and receipt. * Please only purchase if you understand that this is a used item.
