【Product Details】 These are vintage pumps from STEPHANS DIO, featuring eye-catching tricolor, a classic French design. The insole is stamped with HAND MADE, indicating the meticulous craftsmanship of the artisan. 【Condition】 These are vintage items, but are in near unused excellent condition with almost no signs of wear. They have been carefully stored as part of a collection, so the leather is in excellent condition. It is a high-quality leather with a very pleasant feel. 【Size】 36 1/2 (Equivalent to approximately 23.5cm in Japanese sizing) 【Design】 Pointed toe with a retro vibe from the 80s-90s. The vibrant color scheme makes a fashion statement, recommended for those looking for a unique item. *Please consider this item with an understanding that it is a vintage product. Refer to photos 3 and 4. The small holes in the same location on both shoes are called pinholes (or nail holes) and are a sign of careful craftsmanship often found in high-quality leather shoes. They are not defects or scratches, but rather a natural part of the traditional shoemaking process, with a specific meaning and reason. Why are there holes? When shaping leather shoes, the leather needs to be stretched over a last (shoe form) and secured. At this stage, small nails are used to fix the leather to the last to prevent it from shifting. These holes are the marks left after the nails are removed. Why are they common in high-end shoes? Proof of the lasting process: This is evidence that the leather is being molded to the last by artisans, either entirely by hand or through a process closely resembling handwork (lasting), rather than mass-produced by machines. Proof of genuine leather: Synthetic leather or inexpensive leathers often require different methods of fixation, as they tend to expand or tear when nailed. High-quality genuine leather, on the other hand, is flexible and strong, allowing for this traditional technique. Pursuit of a perfect fit: By securely fixing the shoe with nails and allowing it to mold to the last over time, the resulting shoes are comfortable to wear and resistant to losing their shape. The presence of these holes can be considered a sign of trust that the shoes were crafted by artisans, utilizing the characteristics of the material to create a high-quality pair.
