1970 Leica M4 Single Stroke Serial No. 1252560 Fully Restored and Overhauled Leather Tone Black x Gold Repaint Stored in a dry cabinet Purchased on Mercari last March, but selling due to child's growth and changing photography interests. This is a meticulously crafted item. Highly recommended for Leica enthusiasts. [Details from previous owner below] This M4 was custom-ordered from a craftsman specializing in Leica restorations, who also receives orders from overseas. Only a limited number of craftsmen can restore vintage Leicas. This work requires specialized Leica tools, access to genuine parts, and skilled techniques and knowledge. This particular craftsman's skills are so in-demand that they reportedly have a constant backlog and are currently not accepting new orders. Exterior Paint: After stripping the plating, the top cover, bottom plate, back door, operating parts, and body shell were meticulously repaired, primed, and blasted before being repainted in Leather Tone Black x Gold baked enamel. The paint finish consists of a base coat followed by a top coat, creating a double-layered paint film that is highly resistant to impacts and scuffs. Mechanics: As per the maintenance record in the last image, All parts, down to the smallest screws, have been disassembled, cleaned, lubricated, adjusted, and any worn parts have been replaced with new ones, resulting in a perfect overhaul and full restoration. [Examples] Shutter curtain replaced with new, shutter speed adjusted to meet JIS standards, viewfinder block disassembled and cleaned, rangefinder adjusted, winding mechanism cleaned, winding tension adjusted for smooth operation. The viewfinder block has been completely disassembled, cleaned, and the light-blocking material reapplied, resulting in significantly clearer dual-image visibility. *Includes a 6-month warranty valid from December R6. Repairs, maintenance, and restorations after the warranty period will be subject to a fee. *The maintenance record will be provided with personal information redacted. Included accessories: - Brass hot shoe cover, shutter release button, and terminal cover - Artisan & Artist black leather body cover - Custom-ordered 120cm black leather strap from Hyperion, Greece - Unused roll of Portra 400 film as a bonus gift. *Lens not included.
