Is the flash tube and battery nearing the end of their lifespan? This is a B1 unit with such concerns. Previously, I experienced issues where it would fail to fire approximately once every 3 to 6 times. Could the darkening at the ends of the flash tube be related? I contacted Profoto, and they informed me that this is a common symptom of a flash tube nearing the end of its life. They provided me with the contact information for a repair specialist, and I was considering getting an estimate and proceeding with repairs. (I have not yet obtained an estimate.) I am unsure if this is indeed the cause. However, during that time, the misfires inexplicably stopped, and the unit returned to normal operation. Since then, I have used it very little, but it has not misfired since. I have now conducted an experiment, considering the condition of the batteries. Battery A Upon insertion, a ! warning mark appeared on the screen. This was the first time I had seen it. (The meaning is unclear, but when I asked an AI, it suggested a possibility of battery degradation?!) Despite this, I tested it by firing 300 times at output level 9, and there were no misfires. After 300 shots at output level 9, the battery level was very low. I did not set the output to the maximum level of 10. This is because I have always used it this way in my regular usage. When set to maximum, I felt a strong sense of strain or effort from the strobe, and I have a personal rule to avoid using the maximum setting as much as possible to use it gently. Battery B Upon insertion, the ! mark did not appear. However, after approximately 270 shots, a warning appeared, and it stopped firing. It seems that the condition of both batteries is not good. Regarding the case, there are marks from white tape that was previously applied, and there is overall signs of use. The main unit shows signs of use but does not feel heavily worn out, and I believe it is in relatively good condition. I also feel the high level of craftsmanship in this product. The set includes: Profoto B1 2 Batteries Charger Case Although it is in this condition, I would appreciate your consideration.
