Media Center allows convenient access to your digital entertainment with one remote control. It can play slideshows, videos and music from local hard drives, optical drives and network locations. Content can be played back on computer monitors or on television sets through the use of devices called Windows Media Center Extenders such as an Xbox 360 console. For Media Center compatibility, remote controls[ such as this one ]must have certain buttons such as the Green Media Center logo Start button and buttons for navigation, playback and volume controls, power and channel flipping. Even though Windows Media Center is officially discontinued by Microsoft, it still works on older systems like Windows 7 and can be UNOFFICIALLY installed and made functional on Windows 10 and 11 through community-supported methods, though some features, especially DRM-protected content, may be limited or broken on newer OS versions. Accessories used to TEST the listed items are NOT INCLUDED Laptop /AA Batteries Connected the IR Receiver to a modernish laptop running a recently patched Windows 11 Operating system. The receiver was recognized by Windows as a Human Interface Device -> Microsoft eHome Infrared Transceiver without the need for additional software or drivers. Windows Media Center was installed using a Community supported WMC Installer [ 8.9.5 ] and ran without issue. Included Items Windows Media Center Remote IR Transceiver IR Control Cable NO BATTERIES MORE INFO IF NEEDED E5405
