This is the MEC (Morinaga Engineering) Window Radiator W/R1219. No construction required, just install it and it shuts out cold air from your windows. It extends from 120-190cm to fit your window width. I ended up not using it much. It is in good condition. I have confirmed that it heats up when turned on. New ones cost over 40,000 yen, which is quite an investment to try out. If you live in a rental property where construction is difficult but you struggle with the winter cold, please consider this. It's designed to be safe even with children, as it doesn't get too hot. Below is from Morinaga Engineering's website: 〇 Safe and Secure Design that Prevents Fires Fires and burns are a concern when using heaters. The surface temperature of the Window Radiator can reach around 65°C, but fires will not occur even if curtains touch the main body's surface or top. There's no need to worry about burns if you touch it, making it safe for children. 〇 Peace of Mind Regarding Electricity Costs In winter, you tend to use heating appliances more often, and electricity bills tend to increase. Especially on cold days, you might raise the thermostat setting, leading to extra costs. In such cases, using the Window Radiator in conjunction with your existing heating can help you keep the thermostat lower and save electricity.
