This is an extension box for Japanese honeybee log-style beehives with knots and cracks. It is for Honey's House and Honey's Mansion. Japanese honeybees prefer weathered boxes, so professionals sometimes prepare them a year in advance. The external dimensions are 33cm x 33cm, internal dimensions are 27cm x 27cm, and the height is 15cm. The thickness is 3cm, providing a comfortable environment against summer heat and winter cold. The comb support bars are shaved to 8mm. There are various ways to attach the support bars, such as a cross or grid pattern, but too many can bother the bees. Therefore, we attach two parallel bars. When adding extension boxes, if the support bars of the lower extension box are horizontal, please set the upper extension box so that its support bars are vertical. This way, you can achieve a grid-like effect with fewer bars. By the time you harvest honey, you should have four or five boxes stacked, so one of them will support the comb, and cutting the top box will not cause the comb to fall. If you plan to use this with other beehives, please ensure you understand the dimensions before purchasing. Please note that as this is handmade, there may be slight variations of around ±2mm due to manual crafting or wood expansion/contraction. Incidentally, if the colony is strong and the comb grows without issues, it will be stacked up to 5-6 levels, including the entrance box, by autumn.
